Our lovely Coach Maya had the opportunity to attend the USTA Community Tennis Development and Impact Conference from February 19-21, 2026, in Gaylord, Texas. This was a wonderful occasion to connect with other tennis leaders, attend workshops, and share ideas. At the Palmer Park Tennis Academy, we are continuously striving to educate, strengthen, and grow our program. We're excited about new and fresh ideas for 2026 at our Palmer Park tennis courts. Thank you, Coach Maya, for representing the Palmer Park Academy with class, style, and complete professionalism as we offer top-notch tennis lessons in Detroit.
We were fortunate enough to help and host the Detroit PAL at the Palmer Park and Academy for their tiny tennis program this past summer and fall. The program was very beneficial to our tennis community, especially at the Palmer Park tennis courts, and we are all about supporting and giving back, particularly when it comes to our youth and future athletes. We look forward to continuing this partnership and providing more tennis lessons in Detroit.
Our very own Nyla Terrell is shining bright, moving from Palmer Park and Academy to the Virginia State University Women's Tennis Team. We're beyond proud of you, Nyla. Keep making us proud, Trojans! Janae was a member of the first tennis class offered by the Palmer Park Tennis Academy. This week, she accepted a scholarship to Clark University in Atlanta, making her the first player from Palmer Park to receive a tennis scholarship! There will surely be many more in the future! Apart from being an excellent player on the Palmer Park tennis courts, Janae is also a wonderful person. Three-time Division One, #1 Singles State Champion and Five Star recruit, Sachiv Kumar visited the Palmer Park Tennis Academy on Thursday. Sachiv will be playing Big Ten Tennis at Wisconsin this year, and his visit to the Palmer Park tennis courts highlights the excellent tennis lessons Detroit has to offer.

- Patricia is ranked in the Top 250 ITF and has played in the Australian Open Juniors. She currently plays #3 Singles and #1 Doubles at Keiser University in Miami, FL, but she often practices at the Palmer Park Tennis courts.
- Violet is ranked 24 ITF. She played the Australian Open Juniors (2nd place doubles), Wimbledon, and US Open Juniors. At Keiser, she plays #1 Singles and #1 Doubles (with Patricia), taking advantage of the excellent tennis lessons available at Palmer Park and Academy.
- Sam is a top-ranked eighth grader and a rising star, who Sachiv described as 'Way better than I was in eighth grade!' He is also set to join the tennis program at Palmer Park to further hone his skills.
